South Carolina
Since it was Sunday and we just left Atlanta, we went on search for a chapel and ward to attend on our journey to West Virginia. Unfortunately Google Maps was against us today as it sent us about 45 miles north of where the building we wanted actually was (!!) By the time we realized this, it was too late to catch another ward 🙁
We found a popular place in Spartanburg, SC to eat lunch called Skillet Restaurant where we enjoyed burgers and fries. Then we hit the road again to continue north.
North Carolina
In North Carolina, we stopped in Troutman and had a delicious BBQ sandwich and yummy banana pudding at Randy’s BBQ. This was my first time to North Carolina and I would have loved to stay and explore some more but unfortunately we can’t do it all!
West Virginia
Of course, we drove through Virginia to get to West Virginia, but our Virginia adventures will be saved for tomorrow. Today, we drove straight through to get to White Sulphur Springs, WV. We had dinner at a Pizzeria, called April’s Pizza. The diner was named after a woman in the community who was killed in a car accident. When you enter, you are greeted with a LARGE collection of Barbie dolls behind the counter. Apparently this collection belonged to April and they display it as a memorial to her. We had planned to spend the night at an RV campground in town but when we pulled up, it looked more like a small driveway with a few RVs parked on the side — not quite what we had in mind. So we continued further down the road and found a secure 24-hour Walmart parking lot in Virginia where we felt much safer.
