We are the Neilson’s from Southern California. Skylar (the husband) is a Web Designer/Developer and aspiring pilot. Alyssa (the wife) is a Math teacher and a hiking enthusiast. We got married in February of 2015 and wanted to enjoy some time together before having kids exploring the best country on earth, The United States of America.
We planned for the Summer of 2016 to hit the road in our little Blue Prius to take on America and we’re so glad we did. We made it to all 48 consecutive states in 63 days all while living in our Prius. Prius camping and/or Prius motel was the most affordable way to see the USA, and I don’t think you could travel any less. 2020 Update-
We are still living in Southern California and enjoy being with our daughter Taylor and son Clark. They keep life busy and interesting as they grow day to day before our eyes. We still drive our Prius and have put on numerous miles on it. Skylar uses it as a Handyman truck and travels all over Orange County repairing and assembling items.
