This past year has been a busy one. With our baby girl Taylor growing day by day, Alyssa working full time, working on her master’s degree, and Skylar flying every time the weather gets good (which hasn’t been a lot lately) we have been enjoying all the moments. Alyssa is finishing up the 2018-2019 school year at Orange County school of the arts and Skylar has about 160 hours with 90 hours left for his commercial certificate things are going quite well. Taylor is now very mobile and can walk short distances but we are sure in no time she will be running through the halls and up and down the stairs.
This summer our travel plans will take us to Hawaii for two weeks with the Caserio family, Maui for a week and Oahu for the other week. We are still planning out the details of what we want to do on each island and considering we both have been to Oahu a few times but this will be Skylar’s first time to Maui and we want to make the best of it. On returning home from Hawaii we will get one night at home before we will depart on our next journey to lake Powell with the Neilson family. We hope that after these 3 weeks of being out in the sun that we will have some nice tans.
We might make a trip out to Dallas so we can visit some family and friends but also to watch the Texas Rangers at their stadium to mark it off our bucket list of stadiums visited. Skylar is also planning on flying most days we are home to get closer to his commercial and instrument ratings.
Recent Updates
We decided it was time to part ways with Ramona (our 2006 Toyota Rav4) and upgrade to a newer family friendlier car, the Toyota Sienna. Fortunately, we are keeping the Prius and it still is our daily driver. We’ve decided the Sienna will be our car for when our family grows more, which it is, if you know what we mean. 🙂 More details to come later.
Last week we took the Blue Bayou (aka prius) up to the bay area to see Cameron, Ciera, and Fin as well as visit the Oakland temple which was renovated and opened to the public to view. We also went for a hike in the Redwoods regional park, rode BART into Berkeley, ate at Angeline’s, ate alligator, ate at Fenton’s and ran into Skylar’s 4th grade teacher at our hotel. Originally we were going to fly up instead of drive but the weather didn’t look good for the returning day.
Stay tuned for more updates adventures.
